Dr. Owino is a public health specialist with research interests on one-health, epidemiology and control of diseases with emphasis on cancer, and HIV/AIDS. Experienced in Public health implementation interventions designs, and Measuring outcomes of global health programs. Has published and co-published over 50 peer reviewed publications, and successfully supervised several postgraduate students including PhD candidates. Is an editorial Review Board Member with BMC Public Health Research. A reviewer with international peer- reviewed journals including BMC Public Health, Journal of Interventional Epidemiology and Public Health, Environmental Health insights as well as with notable academic and government institutions in Kenya and outside Kenya. Has served the University in various academic and management roles since his initial appointment, including chairperson of the Institutional Scientific Research & Ethics Review Committee (ISREC).
