Research focus:

To develop, validate and evaluate field deployable molecular assay for curable STIs that will facilitate sample preparation, amplification and readout at the point-of-need in resource-limited settings. The approach to obviate the need for cold storage in the workflow; freeze-dried assay master mixes can be stored on the fibre mats at ambient temperature.
