Innovation: Tuition Guard
Over the past three months, our students led by Farhiya Mahamed Maalim from School of Computing and Informatics have been developing Tuition Guard — a digital solution designed to enhance transparency and structure in school fee management within the Kenyan context.
The team recently delivered their final presentation for the Bavaria Project to partners at Digital Product School by UnternehmerTUM. The feedback received was both encouraging and constructively challenging — offering clarity on how to refine, simplify, and strengthen the solution as they move forward.
This journey has demonstrated resilience, collaboration, and adaptability. From ideation and user research to refining user flows and presenting a live solution, our students have truly embodied the spirit of innovation. Their experience reinforces a powerful lesson: great design is not just about aesthetics — it is about creating practical solutions that work for real people.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Digital Product School team, led by Bastian Rieder, Steffen Kastner, and Rahel Fantaw, for exposing our students to global standards in digital product development.
Special gratitude goes to the dedicated trainers and mentors, Margaret Mwinji and Donatus Njoroge, for challenging our students to think critically, defend their decisions, and continuously refine their ideas.
👏 Congratulations to Team Nexus — Christopher Ambala, Daniel Chege, Faith Munuhe, and Kiprono Vincent — for your dedication, teamwork, and perseverance throughout this transformative experience.
At MKU, we remain committed to providing platforms that nurture innovation, global partnerships, and real-world problem-solving skills. We are proud of what our students continue to achieve.
